Toor dal (split pigeon peas) – 1 cup

Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Oil or ghee – 1 tablespoon
Water – as needed
Salt – to taste
Fresh coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon (chopped)

What is the method for making Bihari Dal Pithi?
How to prepare lentils?
Step 1- First, take 1 cup of pigeon pea lentils and wash them thoroughly.
Step 2- Then, soak the lentils in water for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3- Next, put the soaked lentils in a pressure cooker, then add 4 cups of water, salt, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder.
Step 4- Then, cook the lentils in a pressure cooker until they become soft, which usually takes about 3-4 whistles.

How to make Pitha?
Step 1- First, place 1/2 cup of wheat flour in a bowl.
Step 2- Then gradually add water and knead into a soft dough.
Step 3- Next, take a small portion of the prepared dough and sprinkle a little flour on top. Then, using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a thin, circular shape.
Step 4- Then you have to gently press one side of the circular disc and then fold it towards the centre to create the first petal of the flower shape.
Step 5- Then repeat the folding process on both sides and press the edges towards the centre to create a flower-like shape.
Step 6- After that, you will need to place the prepared dough balls on a plate, but make sure they don’t stick together.
How to make pittha with lentils?
Step 1- First, add the prepared fritters to the boiling lentil soup and keep the gas flame low.
Step 2- Keep stirring the pitha occasionally so that they don’t stick together or break apart.

Step 1- First, you need to heat some mustard oil in a small pan. Then add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Step 2- Then add the chopped green chillies, chopped garlic, chopped tomatoes, and chopped onions and let them sauté until golden brown.
