While phones with a large battery are becoming more prevalent, having a 7inch screen on a midrange device is a bit of a new concept. However according to a new leak iQOO is working on a new device within the Z-series that will feature a massive screen and a battery of over 10,000mAh. The leak comes from Digital Chat Station, who has previously been correct with several Chinese devices. Details are currently in early stages and has not been confirmed by iQOO.
Leak Details
Digital Chat Station has posted that this device is in mould stage meaning the overall dimensions of the device are mostly set. This is an early stage during the development, however shows that iQOO will be going ahead with a firm design. According to the tipster this device will feature a 7inch screen and over 10,000mAh battery. The device is expected to launch in China initially and have a target release date of mid-2027. The device was not named by the leaker, however reports suggest it could be the iQOO Z12S following the naming convention of the Z12 series.
Massive Battery
Having a 10,000mAh battery will be one of the biggest batteries ever used within a commercially available device. iQOO have already been pushing the battery sizes within the Z-series, with the Z11 having a 9,020mAh battery and the Z11S having a 10,000mAh battery. This new device will follow the same trend. If you are someone who is always on the move, works long hours or just doesn’t like searching for a charger this battery will be the main draw. Although it will be quite heavy and thick.
7inch Screen
A 7inch screen is a lot bigger than what you would expect from a phone. These screens are usually found on large screen devices or small tablets, so having one within the midrange will definitely be an attempt to make the device stand out. Having a bigger screen will help with videos, reading and gaming however it will be difficult to use with one hand. It is unclear if this device will feature a high refresh rate or what type of screen it will have.
Z-Series Overview
The Z-series has always been iQOO’s midrange devices. They are aimed at those who want a powerful device with fast charging, but at a lower price point. The iQOO Z10 launched in India in April 2025 and featured a 7,300mAh battery and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. It set the standard for budget devices with large batteries. However having a 10,000mAh device within the Z-series will take this concept a lot further, however it will be a completely different product to the Z10.
India Release?
There is no confirmation on this device launching in India. The leak suggests it will launch in China first. iQOO have not mentioned if it will launch in other markets. Previous Z-series devices have launched in India, although not always. This is definitely something to keep an eye out for.
Should I Wait?
If you are looking for a phone with an extremely long battery life and large screen then this is an interesting prospect. However it will be at least a few months until it launches. If you need a phone now then you should go for the current iQOO Z10 or other midrange devices with large batteries. Keep an eye on iQOO’s official channels to see if they mention any names or launch dates.
