Latest report
On November 6, 2026 Abhishek Yadav, the tipster, claimed the OnePlus is holding a meeting in Mumbai to discuss the OnePlus 16 launch in India. The phone is currently undergoing private testing. Debayan Roy (Gadgetsdata) has previously claimed a source confirmed OnePlus is preparing two devices to be launched in India. He added the OnePlus 16 is almost certain to be one of the devices. He also added the OnePlus 16R is definitely being developed to be launched in India. Neither of these devices have been confirmed by OnePlus and no official launch date has been set.
Price and Value
Reports are claiming the OnePlus 16 will cost between ₹1.3 Lakh and ₹1.4 Lakh in India. The OnePlus 15 was released for ₹85,999 in India and the OnePlus 15R is starting at ₹47,999. This means the price could be much higher. It is currently priced at CNY 5,999 for the entry level variant (around ₹86,000 before tax and import). However some reports are claiming the cause of the higher prices are due to the increased cost of memory and chips throughout the industry. An increase of 50% in price over the OnePlus 15 would be a huge leap for a brand that has established itself based on being affordable.
Specs
The OnePlus 16 is tipped to run with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (2nm process), up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage (China only version). It is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with an 185Hz refresh rate. The main camera will be 200MP and will come with a battery capacity of around 9,000mAh with 100W wired charging. These specs match what was seen on the China version which launched in October. However it is unclear if these will be used on the India version or if there will be changes to the software and camera.
OnePlus 16R and 16T
The OnePlus 16R is tipped to feature a 165Hz flat AMOLED display and will be priced between ₹70,000 and ₹75,000. The OnePlus 16T has been mentioned however reports are claiming it could be a rebadged OPPO compact phone in other markets.
Should you wait?
It is a good idea to wait for an official announcement. The OnePlus 15 is still available to purchase and is often discounted. If you are looking to purchase a flagship device it would be best to go for the OnePlus 15. Keep an eye out on the official OnePlus India channels to see when it will be launched. Finally, make sure to check the final price as the prices can change fast.
