Weather Lucknow: Heavy Rain, Cold Winds and Black cloud, IMD Issues Alert

Weather Update: The weather changed in Kanpur on Tuesday morning. As dawn arrived, the sky was cloudy, and the streets were dim. Rain and strong winds kicked in at 9:00 a.m., making it feel even colder. The Meteorological Department says this weather shift is caused by an active disturbance from the Arabian Sea. As a result, they’ve issued a warning for rain and hailstorms throughout Uttar Pradesh.

With clouds and strong winds affecting the entire city since morning, it created a gloomy atmosphere. The impact of the rain and wind was noticeable on the city roads. People heading to work and businesses faced significant challenges due to the rain and wind in the morning. The sudden change in weather brought a chill and fog. Just a day earlier, on Monday, the bright sunshine had raised the maximum temperature, providing some relief from the cold.

On Monday, the maximum temperature reached 25.9 degrees while the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.8 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that the rain is being caused by a new western disturbance. Strong winds and hailstorms are also likely in Kanpur city and surrounding districts. After this disturbance passes, winds from the northwest will affect morning and evening temperatures and increase the cold. This will increase the effects of melting and cold for the next few days.

Train late during weather

Even though there was no fog in the city, but due to fog in the surrounding districts, 31 trains reached Kanpur Central Railway Station hours late than the scheduled time. Kolkata Rajdhani Express (12302) going from New Delhi to Howrah was delayed by 01.21 hours. Apart from this, Shatabdi Express (12034) coming from New Delhi to Kanpur Central was delayed by 01.04 hours. Vande Bharat Express (22416) going from New Delhi to Banaras was delayed by 49 minutes.
