Monsoon Forecast:- Monsoon is now moving very fast in many parts of the country. The IMD has issued a major alert for several states in the country for June 18. The Met Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in 13 states, including UP, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. The northern extent of the monsoon is passing through 18°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18°N/70°E, Harnai, Solapur, Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam, Koraput, Phulbani, Ranchi, Jamui, Muzaffarpur and 28.3°N/E, the Met department said.
The IMD has said that around June 23, 2026, the southwest monsoon is likely to move across parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, other parts of Bihar, and parts of Chhattisgarh. Heavy rains are also expected at isolated places in northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar during the week.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued a warning for people travelling to hilly states. Be sure to check the weather in your area before you leave home. A hail warning has also been issued in some states. Cyclonic circulation in the upper air is forming over eastern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas.
Delhi, UP and Bihar Weather Update
An alert has been issued for Delhi on June 18 due to rain and strong winds. The Met Department estimates that wind speeds could reach 60 to 65 km per hour. The maximum temperature in Delhi tomorrow may be 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum 31 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, an alert has been issued for several districts, including Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Jhansi. As for the weather in Bihar, an alert has been issued for rain and thunderstorms in several districts, including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia, Katihar and Bhagalpur, from June 18 to 20.
Hill states Weather Forecast
According to the Met Department, an alert has been issued for bad weather in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. An alert has been issued for rain and strong winds in several areas, including Dehradun, Nainital, Chamoli, Shimla, Kullu, Jammu and Srinagar. Hail may also occur in some high-altitude areas.
Rain in Jharkhand
An alert has been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Jharkhand on June 18-19. According to the Met Department, an alert has been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Bokaro, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Sahebganj and Giridih. 50 to 55 km/h gusts are expected.

Weather in Uttarakhand
Rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued in Uttarakhand for June 18-22. The Met Department has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert in Nainital, Bageshwar, Almora, Dehradun, Champawat, Chamoli, Haridwar and Rishikesh. An alert has been issued for winds and storms with speeds of 40 to 50 km per hour.
Weather in Jharkhand, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh?
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in districts like Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, and Giridih in Jharkhand on June 18, and a heavy rain alert has been issued for Kolkata, Howrah, Jalpaiguri, Malda, and Murshidabad in West Bengal.
