UP Monsoon Update – Dense fog has blanketed most parts of Uttar Pradesh, bringing life to a complete standstill. Dense fog has prevailed in Western UP since Wednesday morning. In some areas, strong winds late at night caused temperatures to drop further, adding to the difficulties.
On Tuesday, some sunshine broke through, prompting people to venture out of their homes to enjoy the mild warmth. However, the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse again in many parts of Uttar Pradesh.
From January 18th to 19th, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several major cities of Western UP, which is likely to worsen the situation. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several areas of UP. Please take note of this weather update.
Weather forecast for these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bijnor, and Baghpat are likely to experience increased cold and dense fog. Dense fog is also expected in Moradabad, Sambhal, Budaun, Rampur, and Bareilly.
Similarly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, and Jhansi may also experience fog. Dense fog is also expected in Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Prayagraj.
Where will temperatures drop?
The IMD predicts a drop in temperature and increased cold in Varanasi, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Ghazipur, and Sonbhadra. A decrease in maximum temperatures is expected in Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Ballia, Mau, and several surrounding districts.
These districts are expected to experience bright sunshine. Dense fog may return to the capital city, Lucknow, after two days. The weather in Lucknow is expected to be clear on Wednesday. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 6 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature around 21 degrees Celsius. New Western Disturbance to become active
