Khesari Lal Yadav’s wife has been nominated by the RJD, and she will contest the elections

Bihar Election 2025 Update – Amidst the nomination process for the Bihar Assembly elections, all parties are releasing their candidate lists. RJD has released its list of candidates. Chanda Yadav, wife of Bhojpuri cinema’s prominent figure Khesari Lal Yadav, has also been nominated by RJD. She has been given the ticket from the Chhapra Assembly seat.

On the other hand, the BJP has nominated Chhoti Kumar from this constituency. The Chhapra seat falls in the Saran district. Chhoti Kumar is also the Zila Parishad chief of the Chhapra Assembly constituency in Saran district of Bihar. The BJP has denied the ticket to its sitting MLA, CN Gupta, to field Chhoti Kumari. She will face the Bhojpuri actor’s wife, Chanda Devi, in this seat.

Khesari had hinted a few days ago.

Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav met RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, a few days ago. Since then, there have been speculations about his family’s entry into politics. Khesari Lal Yadav had stated that he wanted to do something for Bihar.

He said that he was having difficulty convincing his wife to contest the elections, as she is a family woman and the mother of two children. He further stated that she has not neglected her child’s upbringing, and therefore, he feels that if she enters politics, she might face time constraints. Khesari Lal Yadav said that he has been trying to convince his wife for four days.

The Chhapra seat has been held by the BJP.

For information, the Chhapra seat has been largely held by the BJP. CN Gupta has won this seat twice. The Yadav, Rajput, Brahmin, Baniya, and Muslim voters in the Chhapra seat play a decisive role. CN Gupta received 75,710 votes in the 2020 assembly elections.

Randhir Singh, who came in second, received 68,939 votes. CN Gupta’s victory margin was not very large. In the 2015 election, CN Gupta secured 71,646 votes. RJD’s Randhir Singh secured 60,267 votes. Elections in Bihar are being held in two phases. The first phase of voting will be held on November 6th and the second phase on November 11th.
