Nationwide Mock Drill 7th May 2025:- After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, tensions are seen increasing between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has issued an order for a mock drill tomorrow i.e. on May 7. Before the mock drill, Delhi Police has increased the security of important places in the country’s capital, Delhi.
A large number of police forces have been deployed in Connaught Place. Security has also been increased inside and outside Palika Bazaar to Rajiv Chowk Metro. The last time such a drill was conducted was in 1971, when there was a war on two fronts between India and Pakistan.
On Tuesday, Home Secretary Govind Mohan chaired an important meeting ahead of the nationwide mock drill on May 7. Chief Secretaries and Civil Defence heads of various states attended the meeting, in which special attention was given to the 244 designated civil defence districts notified in 2010.
Which states got the order for mock drill?
India has issued an order for a war security mock drill in all the states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana, on 7 May. This includes air raid warnings and civil security. The order is that it will be done in all 244 categorised civil defence towns and districts.
Air strike warning sirens
An order has also been issued to start the air strike warning sirens. Crash blackout measures have been asked to be adopted in selected areas. During this time, it has been said that all students and citizens should be trained in case of an air or ground attack.
It is written in the order that air raid warning sirens should be tested. It should be checked whether they are working properly or not. Apart from this, people should be told about it properly. Apart from this, citizens and students should be trained about it. They should be technically trained on how to protect themselves in emergencies. Blackout protocols should be followed. The process of switching off power at night will be practised.
