Rain Alert in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rain has been issued in several states of South India. The IMD has issued a rain warning for October 24 due to the formation of two low-pressure areas over the southeast Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Manipur may experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
Caution has been urged due to the possibility of lightning. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands and coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive 7 to 20 cm of rainfall in the next 24 hours. The IMD has predicted heavy rain in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Pollution levels worsen in Delhi.
The air quality in the capital, Delhi, has deteriorated significantly, making it difficult to breathe. One hour spent outdoors is equivalent to smoking fifty cigarettes. The sky is shrouded in haze, with the air quality in most areas reaching very poor levels. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 428, which falls in the severe category.
The air quality in most parts of the capital has reached the very poor category. Administrative measures are also being taken to provide relief from the toxic air. This is believed to be due to the fireworks bursting during Diwali. For many years, pollution levels have reached the severe category after Diwali.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain and snowfall are expected in Uttarakhand. Light rain is expected in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, and Rudraprayag. Snowfall is also expected here. Temperatures in Keylong, Himachal Pradesh, are expected to reach 1 degree Celsius.
