Greater Noida Building Collapse: A major accident occurred near Noida Airport on Wednesday. Several workers were killed when the roof of a three-story building under construction collapsed while dismantling the shuttering in the Rabupura police station area of ​​Gautam Buddha Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi. The number of workers killed in this accident has so far risen.

Police stated that after the roof collapse, the workers were rescued from the debris with the help of the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force. The injured workers have been admitted to the hospital. Four of the 11 workers died in the accident, while seven were rescued from the debris with the help of the police and the National Disaster Response Force and taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred in Nagla Hukum Singh village, within the Rabupura police station area. Following the accident, the Jewar MLA arrived at the scene. He has taken cognizance of the incident, vowing to investigate and report the matter to the Chief Minister. No such statement has been released by the police yet. The deceased include Zeeshan, Shakir, Nadeem, and Kamil. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

When and how the accident happened

The building collapsed while shuttering was being removed from the third floor’s lintel, causing the two floors below to collapse. According to reports, 11 workers were buried under the debris, four of whom died and the rest were injured. Police and NDRF teams arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation.

The families of the four workers killed in the accident are inconsolable. The deceased workers were supporting their families through hard labor. Now, their families hope that they will receive financial assistance from the government or authorities.
