Banke Bihari Temple Crowd Advisory: Considering the massive crowds expected at the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, the temple management has issued an important advisory. Temple manager Munish Kumar Sharma has clearly stated that a huge influx of devotees is expected between December 29th and January 5th, 2026.
Special instructions to avoid the crowds:

Worship from home if possible: The management has appealed to devotees to avoid visiting the temple during this period unless absolutely necessary.
Do not come on an empty stomach: You may have to stand in line for a long time in the crowd, so eat and drink something before leaving home.

Carry your medicines: If you take regular medication, be sure to carry it with you.
Risk for certain groups: Young children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those with heart, diabetes, or respiratory problems are advised not to visit the temple.

Pro tip: The narrow lanes of Vrindavan will experience heavy traffic congestion and immense crowd pressure. Therefore, be careful with your belongings and watch out for pickpockets. Leave your shoes and sandals outside the temple premises for safekeeping.
Ayodhya Ram Temple: VIP passes sold out, but general darshan is easy
If you are heading to Ayodhya, the situation there is slightly different. According to Anil Mishra, a member of the Ram Temple Trust, there is a continuous stream of devotees in Ayodhya, but the arrangements are quite smooth.

VIP and Aarti passes: All VIP and Aarti passes until January 1st, 2026 are completely booked. Obtaining new passes is currently impossible.

General darshan: The good news is that devotees in the general queue are getting darshan within just 30 minutes.
Pass limit: In Ayodhya, only 400 passes are issued for each two-hour slot, and these are already fully booked for the New Year period.
