Bihar Election 2025 Update – The Election Commission has taken action against Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan, also known as Lallan Singh, who took charge of the election campaign after JDU candidate Anant Singh was jailed in Mokama. The Election Commission has filed a case against him for his controversial statement. However, campaigning in Mokama ended on Tuesday evening.
Voting will now take place on November 6th. At an event, Lallan Singh is seen urging his supporters to prevent opposition leaders from voting. As soon as the video circulated on social media, the opposition questioned the Election Commission’s role. The video is said to be from Mokama, which falls within Lallan Singh’s Munger constituency.
What Lallan Singh Said to Supporters
While addressing the crowd during the election campaign, Lallan Singh is seen making a controversial statement. In the viral video, Lallan Singh allegedly says in Magahi, “There are some people here, they should not be allowed to leave their homes on voting day. Lock them inside their homes.” If they try to persuade you, take them to the polling booth and send them back home after they cast their vote.
The Election Commission has filed a case, considering such statements a violation of the code of conduct. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) shared the video on social media, accusing the Union Minister of influencing the electoral process.
On the other hand, the Commission is now awaiting an explanation from Lallan Singh. The murder of Jan Suraj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav has raised the political temperature in Mokama. Former MLA and JDU candidate Anant Singh has been arrested on charges of Dularchand’s murder. Following this, Lallan Singh has taken charge of Lallan Singh’s election campaign in Mokama.
