Iran Nuclear Weapons: The tense situation between the US and Iran continues, making the situation worse. President Donald Trump is willing to go to any lengths to destroy Iran’s nuclear program. Furthermore, the US is considering a military attack on Iran by the end of this week.
US President Donald Trump has not yet given final approval. This tension has intensified while negotiations between the two countries on the nuclear deal are ongoing in Geneva, but no results have been achieved.

According to a CNN report, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt says that while some progress has been made in the talks, the two countries remain significantly divided on several issues. The Trump administration says it wants to give diplomacy a chance, but military options are also on the table.
Simmering Sparks in Iran
Iran is currently going through a difficult period, facing threats not only from external forces but also from internal strife. On December 28, 2025, widespread protests erupted in Iran, driven by the falling value of the Rial (Iranian currency) and skyrocketing inflation.

Starting with shopkeepers, these protests spread across the country and are considered the biggest challenge since the 1979 revolution. To suppress them, the government completely shut down internet and phone services on January 8, 2026. The United States has supported these protests, while Iran has accused the United States and Israel of spreading instability in the country.

Meanwhile, experts at the Council on Foreign Relations say that if Iran acquires nuclear weapons, it would pose a significant threat to Israel and the United States. There are fears that after becoming a nuclear power, Iran will become more aggressive, collaborating with Russia and China. Recently, Iran also supplied drones and missiles to Russia for the Ukraine war. The failure to find a middle ground in the tensions could lead to a major uproar.
