Dhanteras puja is always performed on the thirteenth day during the Pradosh period.

What should be purchased on Dhanteras?

Gold and Silver: Gold and silver jewellery should be purchased on Dhanteras. Furthermore, buying coins is believed to bring blessings from the Goddess Lakshmi.

Utensils: Buying copper and brass utensils on this day is considered very auspicious.

Broom: Buying a new broom on Dhanteras is also considered auspicious.
