Delhi violence case – police act, 10 accused taken into custody

Delhi Violence – Late at night, a team from the municipal corporation that had arrived to remove encroachments near the Faiz-e-Ilahi dargah was pelted with stones by a mob. Approximately half a dozen police officers were injured in the incident. There was a major disturbance near Turkman Gate for a short period as people protested the action.

The police have now taken action and registered an FIR against the rioters. Furthermore, the Delhi Police have detained 10 suspected individuals on charges of disturbing the peace, and they are currently being interrogated. The police identified the accused using body camera footage. More arrests are expected in this case.

Team arrived with bulldozers after midnight

The Delhi Municipal Corporation arrived with bulldozers after midnight on Tuesday night to remove encroachments on the road near the mosque at Turkman Gate. As soon as the municipal corporation began the demolition work, people emerged from their homes and started protesting.

The protesters began pelting stones at the police officers who were already stationed there. The situation near the mosque quickly spiraled out of control. Five police officers were injured in the stone-pelting.
