Delhi Blast Update: A powerful explosion occurred in a car parked near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening, setting several nearby vehicles on fire and shattering the windows of several others. According to Delhi Police sources, nine people have died so far. Several others have been injured and admitted to LNJP Hospital. Security has been heightened in the capital following the blast. The explosion was so powerful that panic gripped the entire area.
Police and security forces have been deployed in several parts of the national capital. Traffic diversions and restrictions have been imposed on the Red Fort and surrounding roads. On Tuesday morning, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a new traffic advisory advising travellers to take alternative routes.
New Diversion Advisory Issued
According to the Delhi Police, traffic has been stopped and diverted on both lanes and the service road of Netaji Subhash Marg. This restriction will apply from the Chhatta Rail Cut to the Subhash Marg Cut. The police have stated, “Commuters should avoid using these routes until the lockdown is effective at 6 a.m. and choose alternative routes. No vehicles will be allowed on Netaji Subhash Marg.”

1. CCTV footage has surfaced just before the blast.
2. An I-20 car is seen in the footage.
3. The driver of the car is wearing a black mask.
4. According to sources, the driver’s name is Mohammad Umar.
5. Mohammad Umar is associated with the Faridabad module.
