7th Pay Commission: The Modi government is going to give a big gift to central employees and pensioners before Diwali. This will be a big announcement before Diwali, which will provide relief from inflation. There is talk that the central government is considering increasing the dearness allowance (DA) around Diwali.
This time, a DA increase of up to 3% is expected, which will prove to be a major gift. More than 1 crore families may benefit from the increased DA. However, it is not yet possible to officially say how much the DA increase will be. Learn important updates related to this.
How much will the DA be?
If the Modi government at the centre increases the DA of central employees by 3%, their salaries will skyrocket. After this increase, the DA will reach 58%, meaning it will prove to be a booster dose. Currently, central employees receive a 55% dearness allowance.
The DA increase around Diwali will be implemented from July 1, 2025. The previous DA increase was effective from January 1, 2025. More than 10 million families will benefit from the DA. The government increases the DA twice every year. The DA is increased to compensate employees for inflation.
Salary Increase
If the central government increases the DA by 3%, employees are sure to see a positive impact. If the 3% increase is implemented, salaries will skyrocket. If an employee’s salary is ₹30,000, they could see an increase of ₹900 per month based on 3% DA.
This translates to an increase of ₹10,800 per year. If the monthly salary is ₹40,000, they will see a monthly increase of ₹1,200. If we calculate every year, there will be an increase of Rs 14,400.
When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
The question of when the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented for central government employees remains a major one. The government has not yet formed a committee for the new Pay Commission. While its formation was announced in January, the committee has not been finalised. A new Pay Commission has been implemented every 10 years. However, this time it seems unlikely.
