New Delhi: The NDA and Grand Alliance parties are now busy allocating tickets to their candidates. The BJP has released its second list of candidates. Twelve candidates have been given tickets in the second list. A surprising name has emerged in this list: folk singer Maithili Thakur has been nominated by the BJP for the Alinagar seat. She joined the party just a day earlier on Tuesday.
The BJP confirmed her ticket in the second list. Previously, the BJP had released a list of 71 candidates. Overall, the BJP has announced candidates for 83 seats so far. The NDA has secured 101 seats. Consequently, it will need to field candidates for 18 more seats.
List of 12 Candidates Released
The BJP shared this information by releasing its second list of 12 candidates on X. In addition to Maithili Thakur’s candidacy from Alipur, the BJP has also nominated Dr Siyaram Singh for Barh. Gyanendra Gyanu’s ticket has been denied in this constituency. The party has nominated former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar. He represents Jan Suraj. Kedar Nath Singh has also been given a ticket from Baniapur.

He was in the RJD and is the brother of strongman Prabhunath Singh. CN Gupta has been given a ticket from Chhapra, where Chhoti Kumari is the candidate. Vinay Kumar Singh has been renominated from Sonpur. He has previously served as a BJP MLA from here and is the brother-in-law of strongman Prabhunath Singh.
The BJP has announced Ranjan Kumar as its new candidate from Muzaffarpur. Suresh Sharma lost from here last time. The party has also fielded a new candidate in Agiaon.
Elections to be held in two phases
For information, the Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on November 6th and the second phase on November 11th. Counting will take place on November 14, 2025. All political parties within the NDA and the Grand Alliance are currently in a state of confusion. Debates and arguments are ongoing.
