Latest leaks suggest that both Oppo and Honor are testing 100MP front-facing cameras for their future flagship smartphones. The real innovation isn’t necessarily the 100MP spec, as the two companies are reportedly testing out a totally new square sensor design, which could bring about the biggest selfie experience in years including video calls, vlogging and content creation.

Reports indicate that both Oppo and Honor are currently testing 100MP front cameras for upcoming flagship devices which include the OPPO Find X10 series and the Honor Magic9. While the iPhone 17 series showcased a square-shaped selfie camera a little while back, it seems Chinese manufacturers want to push it further by using an incredibly high resolution in conjunction with software capabilities.
