A new leak shared by tipster Smart Pikachu on Chinese social media site Weibo has shed some light on the Pura X2’s launch window. According to the leak, Huawei is currently internally testing its new wide-screen vertical foldable phone, and it could launch sometime between January and March 2026, the first quarter of 2026.

Kirin 9030 Chip

The largest highlight in leaks is its processor. It is being reported that in Pura X2 the company can give its new Kirin 9030 chipset. It is the same processor that has recently debuted with the Mate 80 Pro Series.

The previous model had the Kirin 9020, and is now clear from being upgraded to the 9030 that Huawei is preparing to deliver major improvements in terms of performance, multi-tasking and power efficiency. This chip, especially in form-factors such as wide foldable, will help give the phone a smooth tablet-like experience.

Wide Foldable Design

The thing that makes the Pura X different from the crowd is its wide folding design. This is a flip phone that looks like a compact tablet when opened. New reports suggest that Pura X2’s internal screen may be larger than before. Huawei is in the mood to continue this form-factor, leading to multitasking, video consumption and reading experience and better.
