UPSC Mains 2025 Result Announced. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the results of the Civil Services Main Examination 2025 (UPSC CSE Mains 2025). Candidates who appeared in this prestigious examination can now check their results on the Commission’s official website, upsc.gov.in. A total of 2,736 candidates qualified for the interview (personality test). The Commission has also released a name-wise PDF list along with the results, allowing candidates to easily check their names.

When was the UPSC Mains Examination 2025 held?

The Union Public Service Commission conducted the Civil Services Main Examination 2025 from August 22 to August 31, 2025. The exam was conducted in two shifts.

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

The exam was conducted at more than 24 centres across the country, with millions of candidates participating.

How Many Candidates Succeeded?

According to the results released by the UPSC, 2,736 candidates have been declared successful in the main examination and will now be eligible for the Personality Test (Interview Round). Interview dates and call letters will be uploaded to the Commission’s website soon.

How Many Posts to Be Filled?

This year, the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 will fill a total of 979 posts. These include positions in various All India Services and Central Services Group A and B.

The details of the posts are as follows:

  • IAS (Indian Administrative Service): 180 posts
  • IFS (Indian Foreign Service): 55 posts
  • IPS (Indian Police Service): 150 posts
  • IA&AS (Indian Accounts and Audit Service): 28 posts
  • ICAS (Indian Accounts Service): 15 posts

Distribution of posts by reservation

According to the vacancy breakdown released by the UPSC, out of the 180 IAS posts,

  • 74 posts are unreserved (UR)
  • 28 posts are for the Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • 13 posts are for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • 47 posts are for Other Backwards Classes (OBC)
  • 18 posts are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

Out of the total 150 IPS posts, 60 are reserved for unreserved candidates, 22 for SC, 11 for ST, 42 for OBC, and 15 for EWS candidates.

How to download the UPSC Mains Result 2025

  • First, visit the official website of the UPSC, upsc.gov.in.
  • Click on the “UPSC Civil Services Mains Result 2025” link on the homepage.
  • A PDF file will open containing the names and roll numbers of the selected candidates.
  • Find your name or roll number by pressing Ctrl+F.
  • Download the result and save it for future reference.

Candidates who have successfully passed the Mains exam will now be called for an interview (Personality Test). UPSC will release the interview schedule and call letters soon.
