NTA Increases JEE Main 2026 Exam Centres. There’s good news for candidates who have registered for JEE Main. The NTA has increased the number of exam centres this time. Last year, the exam was conducted in 284 cities, while this year it will be conducted in a total of 323 cities. This increase in exam centres is a relief for students who come from smaller or remote areas. However, there have been no changes to the exam format or process; the exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode as before.

JEE Main Registration 2026: Last Date for Registration

The registration process for JEE Main 202beganun on October 31, 2025. Students interested in enrolling in B.Tech, B.Arch, or  B. Planning courses can be applied for by visiting the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The deadline for online applications is November 27, 2025. Students are advised not to wait for the deadline ato nd complete the application process well in advance.

 JEE Main Exam Dates 2026: When will the exam be held?

NTA has decided to conduct the JEE Main exam in two sessions

  • Session 1: January 21 to January 30, 2026
  • Session 2: April 1 to April 10, 2026

This arrangement has been made to give students two opportunities to improve their performance.

 JEE Main Eligibility 2026: Who can take the exam

There is no age limit for appearing in this exam.

  • All candidates who have passed class 12th in 2024 or 2025, or who are going to appear for the 12th board exam in 2026, can appear for the JEE Main exam.
  • However, regarding subjects, only those students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Math (PCM) in class 12th will be eligible.
  • Students without these subjects cannot apply for JEE Main.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2026: No Change in Pattern

According to the NTA, there has been no change in the exam pattern this time. The exam will be based on multiple-choice questions (MCQs) as before. The B.Tech exam will feature questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Math, while  B. A rc. and B.Planning will have separate papers for their respective subjects.

The increased number of centres this time will ease travel difficulties for students. The NTA aims to ensure every candidate has the opportunity to take the exam in a city near their location, making the exam process transparent and convenient.
