Did you know that Meta will now formally begin displaying ads in WhatsApp, starting with the Updates tab? Indeed, this upgrade will bring advertisements into the messaging app for the first time. The app’s Status function, located within the Updates page, will be used to present sponsored content. The app will slowly transform into a platform that will now also generate revenue through advertising, which is the largest shift to date.

Will ads appear in both group and private chats?
Let us inform you that advertisements are currently displayed on Instagram and Facebook stories, and they will now also appear when you see WhatsApp status updates. But the company has also stated that ads will not show up in group or personal chats. In a blog post, WhatsApp stated that it has been discussing plans for years to create a company that does not interfere with your private messages and that it thinks the Updates tab is the best location for these new capabilities to function.

Also, users will be able to sign up for a recurring fee to receive early access to special information from their preferred channels.
