UIDAI’s New Aadhaar App: How to Download, Set Up, and Access New Features

Aadhaar App: The Aadhaar card is super important for every Indian. It’s used for a bunch of key things like verifying your birth date, address, and even opening a bank account. A lot of people carry their Aadhaar card around, which can make them anxious about losing it. But guess what? The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has rolled out a new Aadhaar app! This app lets you store your Aadhaar card digitally on your smartphone, making it easier and more reliable than ever. After this, you won’t even need to carry a physical card for ID.

Step 4: Complete a face scan to confirm your identity and prevent any misuse.

Step 5: Set a six-digit security PIN to keep your profile secure, ensuring your information stays safe at all times.

After you finish setting it up, you can access your digital Aadhaar anytime and choose what info to display during verification—whether it’s just your name and photo or full details like your address and date of birth.

Check out the features

Multi-profile management: You can now add Aadhaar cards for up to five family members linked to the same mobile number in one app, making it super easy to manage everyone’s identity info in one spot.

Biometric Security Lock: Enable biometric authentication to safeguard your Aadhaar data. This will stop anyone from accessing or sharing your information until you unlock it.

Selective data sharing and QR code verification: Choose which details to share to protect your privacy. You can display only your name and photo, while concealing your address or date of birth when it’s not necessary. Create and scan QR codes for quick and paperless identity verification at banks, government offices, or service centers.

Offline Mode Access: After setting up the app, you can access your saved Aadhaar information even without an internet connection. However, you’ll need to be online to take full advantage of all the features.

Usage History Monitoring: The app’s integrated activity log also informs you when, where, and how your Aadhaar was utilized, ensuring your security at all times.
