The Ministry of Labour and Employment has shared important information with PF employees. The ministry stated that, to date, two Employees’ Provident Fund Offices are involved in the transfer of provident fund deposits. One of these is the source office from which the PF amount was changed. The second is the destination office, where the amount was finally deposited.
However, now work has been done to simplify this process. EPFO has eliminated the need for approval of all transfer claims in the destination office by introducing the revised Form-13 software system.
Know what the details are
PF has made the transfer process easier for employees. Now, once the transfer claim is approved in the source office, the previous account will be automatically transferred to the current account of the members in the next office. This will fulfil the objective of the convenience of EPFO members. This revised system also allows the division of taxable and non-taxable components of PF accumulation.
This also facilitates the accurate calculation of TDS on taxable Provident Fund (PF) interest. According to the ministry, more than 1.25 crore members are likely to benefit from this. This will enable the transfer of Rs 90,000 crore per year.
