SBI: Big news for SBI customers. If you are a customer of the State Bank of India (SBI), this news is important for you. Tomorrow, April 11, SBI customers might encounter issues while making transactions for a short period. SBI has proactively informed its customers about this. The bank has warned that there could be disruptions in OTP-based services due to scheduled maintenance on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
If you rely on internet and mobile banking for your payments, be sure to pay attention to the timings provided by the bank to avoid any inconvenience. It’s advisable to complete any necessary payments either before or after this timeframe. It’s worth noting that SBI is the largest bank in the country, serving over 520 million customers.
During this time, SBI’s OTP service will be temporarily unavailable.
The bank has indicated that OTP-based internet banking services, as well as YONO Lite and YONO, may experience brief outages on April 11, 2026, from 02:30 PM to 02:50 PM (IST) due to the scheduled maintenance of the OTP system.
SBI has communicated this information to customers via a post on X. In the post, SBI stated, “Due to scheduled maintenance activity, there may be an interruption in Internet Banking, YONO Lite, and YONO OTP-based services between 02:30 PM to 02:50 PM (IST) on April 11, 2026. During this time, customers can utilize ATM, UPI, Secure OTP, and SBI Authenticator to access services without any disruption.”
Alternative methods for transactions
SBI has clarified that customers can use alternative channels to continue accessing services without interruption. Customers can perform transactions through ATM services, UPI, Secure OTP, and SBI Authenticator; all of these options are expected to operate normally during the maintenance period.
What is SBI Secure OTP?
SBI Secure OTP is an application used to generate OTPs for verifying transactions made through SBI Internet Banking and the YONO Lite SBI app. SBI Authenticator is an additional authentication solution developed by SBI, allowing users to select from various authentication methods. Customers can opt for prompt, QR, or app-based authentication.
How to generate secure OTP?
SBI users can generate OTP in two ways while performing a transaction on SBI Internet Banking/Yono Lite SBI application: Online OTP, which requires an internet connection (through SIM or Wi-Fi).
