Ration Card : Good news for Ration Card holders. Government ration cards have now been converted into smart cards, eliminating the need for consumers to visit the department for ration cards. They can obtain smart ration cards by downloading them online. There are 7,89,914 ration card holders in the district. These include 6,72,187 eligible household ration card holders and 1,17,727 Antyodaya ration card holders.

The department was issuing new ration cards, but they didn’t have a book to print and distribute them to cardholders. Consequently, consumers were receiving rations using only their card numbers. However, the government has launched a digital ration card scheme in the current financial year.

Under this scheme, consumers can download and print their ration card online through the MyRationCard app. The smart ration card is similar to a driving license, Aadhaar card, or Ayushman card issued by other departments, with the cardholder’s details and QR code on one side and the details of family members on the other.

Consumers in the district are now receiving rations through smart cards. District Supply Officer Dilip Kumar said that those whose cards have torn or become damaged due to some reason will be able to access rations.

They can download their smart ration card through the app. They will also find complete information about their ration card and its related information. They can also share their concerns with the department through the app.
