Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: The era of electric cars is growing faster than ever, and Maruti Suzuki is now going to make a big move in this race with its first EV. The company has officially announced that Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will launch on 2 December 2025 in the Indian market.
Interestingly, it is being exported not only to India but also to many countries from the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. Design Details
The design of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is based on the ICE Vitara, but its electric avatar gives it a car-like feel of the future. This SUV, about 4.27 meters long and 2.7 meters wheelbase, gives considerable muscular and high-tech appeal. The front design features Y-shape vertical LED headlamps, smart grills with adaptive shutters and 3-point matrix DRLs, giving it an extremely premium look.
Its side features 18-inch black-out aerodynamic alloy wheels, which are not only great in appearance, but also help increase range. The 3-point matrix taillamps, roof spoiler and high-tech SUV theme at the rear make it look more stylish. This electric SUV offers a total of 10 color options, including 4 dual-tone variants.
Feature
The interior of the e Vitara is designed on a completely premium layout. Ventilated front seats and a 10-way electric adjustable driver’s seat make your drive comfortable. The rear seats recline up to 20 degrees, providing extra comfort on long journeys.
Features like a panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, PM 2.5 cabin air filter and wireless charging pad give it a high-class experience. The new infotainment system comes with Suzuki Connect support, which will provide navigation, live stats and EV-specific data.
This electric SUV also has different driving modes like Regen Mode, Snow Mode and Eco/Normal/Sport Modes. Apart from this, electronic parking brake with auto hold and a 360-degree camera are also included, which make both driving and parking easier.
Safety Features
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the brand’s first SUV to feature Level-2 ADAS. This includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Jam Assist. 7 airbags, TPMS, ESC, ISOFIX and front-rear parking sensors are given standard for the same safety.
Battery, Motor And Range
Maruti e Vitara will come in two battery pack options. 48.8 kWh which will be in Base Variant is the same 61.1 kWh which will be in Top Variant. Both of these are based on BYD’s LFP battery technology, which is considered great for durability and safety. It will have a range of 500+ km in Top Variant and 344 – 426 km in Base Variant.
Its single motor FWD setup will produce 171 hp power and 192 Nm torque, allowing this SUV to hold 0-100 kmph in just under 9 seconds. The top variant is likely to get ALLGRIP-e AWD, which will have different motors on both axles and will get even better from trail mode.

Price And Competition
The estimated price of Maruti Suzuki e Vitara can be placed between ₹17 lakhs to ₹22.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). With its local production in India, this price can become quite attractive. Bookings will start on launch day and delivery is likely to start shortly thereafter. e Vitara will give tough competition to models like Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE.5 in India.
