PM Matru Vandana Yojana: Government Provides Rs 11,000 to Pregnant Women, Know How to Apply

PM Matru Vandana Yojana: The Government of India is continuously working towards empowering women economically and socially. In this regard, the central government has launched the Matru Vandana Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana). This scheme has been specifically designed to protect the health of pregnant women and newborns.

Financial Assistance Under the Scheme

Under this scheme, run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, pregnant women are provided with a total financial assistance of ₹11,000. An amount of ₹5,000 is given for the birth of the first child, which is disbursed in three installments. Additionally, the government provides an additional ₹6,000 for the birth of a second girl child. This amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary women’s bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The main objective of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is to improve the health of mothers and children and provide financial support to pregnant women. Application Process and Eligibility

If a woman wishes to avail the benefits of this scheme, she must apply by visiting the government’s official website https://pmmvy.wcd.gov.in/. To apply, a woman must be at least 19 years old and must apply within 270 days of the child’s birth.

Only women who have a ration card or identity card are eligible for this scheme. Women from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), women with disabilities, and beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme are also eligible.
