What did Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh say?

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had recently said that the next installment of Rs 2,000 will be deposited in the accounts of farmers soon. All state governments have been appealed to complete Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC and other necessary formalities as soon as possible so that there is no delay in payment.

During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, he had said that many farmers in the border areas are doing farming, but their land ownership documents are not complete. If the state governments verify such farmers and send their names to the Centre, then they can also avail the benefits of this scheme. 18 days after this, the Central Government transferred the 21st installment of Rs 171 crore to the accounts of more than 8.5 lakh farmers of Jammu and Kashmir.

The central government has already released the 21st installment to some states. This installment was disbursed to farmers in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh on September 26, 2025, as advance relief was provided to compensate for losses caused by floods and landslides in these states. Additionally, farmers in Jammu and Kashmir received this installment on October 7, 2025. Payments to other states are expected in November.

Under this scheme, Rs 2,000 each is transferred to farmers’ accounts in three installments every year. The first installment is released between April and July, the second between August and November, and the third between December and March.
