What to do if your PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar?

If, for any reason, your PAN and Aadhaar card are not linked by December 31, 2025, your income tax return will not be filed or verified. Your refund will also be withheld. Pending returns will not be processed. TDS/TCS credits will not be reflected in Form 6AS. However, TDS/TCS can be deducted or collected at the applicable rate.

How to link your PAN card with Aadhaar?

First, you need to visit the official Income Tax Department website.

You will then see the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option on your screen. Click on it.

You’ll then need to enter your PAN, Aadhaar, and mobile number.

An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. This OTP will be used to verify your PAN.

If your PAN card is already inactive, you’ll need to pay a small fee first.

Then, go to ‘Link Aadhaar Status’ under ‘Quick Links’ and check your status.
