New Delhi Railway Station: Big news for vehicle owners. Parking cum access control will be implemented from June 25 in the pick and drop area towards Ajmeri Gate of New Delhi Railway Station. Under this, vehicles carrying passengers will be allowed to stop in the pick and drop area for only eight minutes. If the stoppage exceeds eight minutes, a fine of Rs 50 will be charged. If the vehicle stops for 15 to 30 minutes, then Rs 200 will have to be paid. If it exceeds this, the vehicle will be towed away and a fine of Rs 500 will also be charged.
Railways claim that parking cum access control will reduce the problem of jam at the entry and exit gates towards Ajmeri Gate of the station. This will also increase the revenue of the railways. Railway officials say that this system was earlier in place at New Delhi Railway Station but the system was stopped after the tender ended. Now this system has been started again.
This system is already in place at Anand Vihar railway station. Earlier, commercial vehicles were also charged for pick and drop. Earlier, only private vehicles were allowed to wait for 8 minutes, but now every vehicle will be allowed to wait for the first 8 minutes. A fee will be charged for stopping for more than this time. Officials believe that this new system will make traffic smooth. It will also reduce unnecessary obstructions in the drop lane.
It is not possible to get out in 8 minutes
Many questions are being raised about this arrangement. People say that this arrangement may be right for passengers with small bags or no luggage, but passengers with heavy luggage or elderly passengers will not be able to get out of the station within eight minutes. In such a case, they will be charged Rs 50 and Rs 200. There are many passengers in a car. The passengers will get down from the car and then take out their luggage as well. In such a situation, it is not possible to get out of the station within eight minutes.
