New Vande Bharat Express- Good news for Train passengers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off three more Vande Bharat Express trains from Bengaluru. He personally flagged off the much-awaited Bengaluru-Belagavi, while the Vande Bharat services from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar and Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune were launched digitally.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and others were present with the PM on this special occasion. Talking about these three Vande Bharat services, railway officials said that these new Vande Bharat trains will further strengthen people-to-people connectivity and provide a world-class travel experience to passengers.

It is worth noting that this Vande Bharat Express running from Bengaluru to Belgaum is the 11th Vande Bharat train to be operated in Karnataka. According to railway officials, after its launch, the distance of 611 km can be covered in just 8.5 hours. This is the fastest train between these two cities, which will save about one hour 20 minutes from KSR (Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna) Bengaluru to Belgaum and one hour 40 minutes from Belgaum-KSR Bengaluru compared to the existing train services.

He said the train connects India’s ‘Silicon City’ Bengaluru to Belagavi, the hub of premier medical and engineering institutes, which will boost economic and educational opportunities in the region. The route passes through Karnataka’s rich sugarcane belt and major cities like Dharwad, Hubli, Haveri, Davanagere and Tumakuru. Dharwad is famous for its prestigious educational institutions, Hubli is a strong industrial area, Haveri is an emerging agricultural hub, Davanagere is famous for textiles and agriculture and Tumakuru is a growing industrial and educational hub.
