The government is also providing a subsidy of up to ₹300 on a 14.2-kilogram cylinder. This means you can purchase a gas cylinder for ₹300 less. This subsidy is available only to those listed under the PM Ujjwala Yojana. If you’re not registered under this scheme, you won’t be able to avail the subsidy.

How much will the cylinder cost after the subsidy?

After the subsidy, customers will find the gas cylinder much cheaper. In Lucknow, a regular gas cylinder costs up to ₹890. If you’re enrolled in the PM Ujjwala Yojana, you’ll receive a ₹300 subsidy. Consequently, customers can purchase the cylinder for a total of ₹590.

In Ghaziabad, you can purchase a gas cylinder for a total of ₹550 with a subsidy of ₹300. In Delhi, you can fulfil your dream of purchasing a gas cylinder for ₹553. In Mumbai, you can buy an LPG cylinder for ₹552 and bring it home. In Gurgaon, a domestic LPG cylinder costs up to ₹861, with a subsidy of ₹300. Consequently, you can purchase it for a total of ₹561.

How many cylinders are subsidised annually?

The central government is providing a subsidy of ₹300 on a cooking gas cylinder under the PM Ujjwala Yojana. Now, only 9 cylinders will be eligible for subsidy each year. Previously, the government provided a subsidy of ₹200 on 12 cylinders per year. However, the subsidy amount has been increased by reducing the number of cylinders.

This scheme is available to millions of customers across the country, and it is proving to be helpful for the poor. The full price will be paid when purchasing the cylinder from the agency. The subsidy amount will be transferred to the customer’s account within a few days.

According to a report, more than 120 million people across the country are enrolled in the PM Ujjwala Yojana. In Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 1.75 million people are enrolled in the scheme.
