Gold Rate Down Today: Gold and silver prices continue to fluctuate. Gold rates have left both the general public and investors feeling confused. The price of gold has fallen below the ₹1.5 lakh mark, while silver is currently trading below ₹2.45 lakh. Consequently, people are feeling quite perplexed, wondering how low gold prices might fall if the downward trend continues, and conversely, how high they might rise if the market rebounds.
Today, Tuesday, May 5th, a decline in gold rates has been observed. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has dropped by ₹543, bringing it down to ₹1.47 lakhs per 10 grams. Prior to this, its price was ₹1.48 lakh per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, the price of one kilogram of silver has declined by ₹618, settling at ₹2.39 lakhs. All in all, no significant decline in gold and silver prices has been witnessed today.

According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 23-carat gold is ₹146,966 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the rate for 22-carat gold is ₹135,162 per 10 grams. Additionally, the rate for 18-carat gold is ₹110,668 per 10 grams, and for 14-carat gold, it is ₹86,321 per 10 grams.
Gold MCX Rates
At 10:40 AM, gold contracts for June 5th delivery were trading at ₹149,552 per 10 grams, up ₹211. Meanwhile, silver contracts were trading at ₹244,219, up ₹315. Meanwhile, as of 12:49 PM, gold for June 5th delivery has risen to ₹149,764 per 10 grams. In contrast, silver is now trading at ₹245,239 after an upward move.
According to the All India Bullion Association, 99.9% pure gold recently declined by ₹2,000 to ₹152,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes). At the close of the market on Thursday, its price stood at ₹154,800 per 10 grams.
