How to Apply Online
Earlier, getting a ration card required long queues at offices. In the era of digitalisation, you can now add your name to your ration card easily using your mobile phone. First, you need to download the Umang app to your mobile phone. After that, you’ll need to register and go to the home page. Here, you’ll need to go to the Services section.
Then, the Ration Card option will appear under the Utility Services option. You can click on ‘Apply Ration Card’ on the UMANG app. Then, select your state. Currently, this feature is not available in all states.
Currently, it is available only in some states, such as Chandigarh, Ladakh, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. According to a report, the facility of making ration cards at home may soon be implemented in other states as well.
