GATE 2026 Admit Card to be Declared Soon: Candidates who have applied for the IIT GATE exam are eagerly awaiting their admit cards. According to media reports, the hall tickets may be released very soon. The admit card was initially scheduled for release on January 2nd, but it has not yet been released. The admit card will be available for download from the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. No admit cards will be sent to any student offline. So, let’s find out how to download the admit card.
The admit card is an important document for appearing in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026). Without the hall ticket, you will not be allowed to sit in the examination hall. Therefore, candidates must carry their admit card and a valid original identity proof (Aadhaar card/PAN card/Voter ID card/Passport/Driving License) with them when they go to the examination centre.

On which dates will the exam be held?
This time, the GATE exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. The examination will be held on February 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th, 2026. The exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The second shift will be from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

GATE Admit Card 2026: How to download the GATE 2026 Hall Ticket?
First, visit the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in
Click on the “GATE Admit Card 2026” link on the homepage.
Enter your registration number and password/date of birth.
Upon logging in, the admit card will appear on the screen.
Download the admit card as a PDF.
Make sure to take a printout for future reference.

Exam Pattern
The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions. The exam will consist of one-mark and two-mark questions. There will be negative marking: one-third of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect one-mark answer, and two-thirds of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect two-mark answer. Mobile phones, calculators, watches (of any kind), purses/wallets, books, papers, bags, pen boxes, and any electronic devices are not permitted inside the examination centre.
