Uttar Pradesh government has taken another important step for betterment of the farmers. With the help of modern technology, farmers will be able to know more about various things related to farming in advance and quickly, which can make positive impact on their income.
Decisions made by the State Government
The government is developing a new agricultural policy to transform farming into a modern and profitable business, which will play a key role in making farmers’ farming more productive. Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the formulation of a ” Digital Agriculture Policy ” to bring about a digital revolution in the agricultural sector in Uttar Pradesh. Under this policy, farmers will be provided with real-time information on crops, weather forecasts, seed availability, irrigation facilities, and market prices . Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the move will strengthen the ” seed to market ” concept, ensuring increased income for farmers.
The policy was announced at a recent high-level meeting, where the CM emphasized an integrated approach from agriculture to industry. The project will increase crop productivity, strengthen the rural economy, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The Chief Minister said that small and marginal farmers will be particularly benefited. Furthermore, this initiative will propel the state towards becoming a global food hub by 2030. A total of ₹4,000 crore will be spent on the World Bank-backed “UP AGREES” (Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Growth and Rural Enterprise Ecosystem Strengthening) project to strengthen Uttar Pradesh ‘s agriculture sector.
Who will be benefited
The project, being implemented in 28 districts, will focus on value addition, development of processing units, and local employment generation. The Digital Agriculture Policy also includes directives to strengthen the agricultural financial system. Under this policy, providing easy access to credit to small and marginal farmers, distributing loans through digital platforms , and attracting private investment will be key priorities. CM Yogi Adityanath stated that agriculture is not just farming, but a source of industry and employment. We will empower farmers with technology and digital tools, which will accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s path to becoming a $1 trillion economy. This initiative will take Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural revolution to new heights.
