In the country’s oilseed marketplace, there was a price drop in the majority of oilseeds last Friday. Mustard and soybean oilseed prices slipped along with crude palm oil (CPO), palmolein, and cottonseed oil. Groundnut oilseed prices and other oilseed prices remained the same as less was sold by farmers at lower prices.
Market sources said news circulated just before the soybean sowing season begins in 10-15 days that the cooperative agency, NAFED, would begin disposing of soybean starting on April 21. This news affected the market and driven prices for most oilseeds lower.
