How much has the DA increased?
Before Diwali, the central government increased the DA by 2%. Now, it has been increased from 12.25% to 14.25% of the basic salary. Previously, in May, the decision was taken to increase allowances from 10.75% to 12.25%. Even after this, employees’ salaries saw a hike. The government increases the DA of its employees every six months. The increased DA rates are implemented from January 1st and July 1st.
State governments have also given this gift
Besides Karnataka, several other state governments have already given DA gifts to their employees. A few days ago, the governments of Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh approved a 3% increase in DA for state employees and pensioners, increasing their DA to 58%. Previously, their DA was 55%.
The increased DA rates will be effective from July 1st. This decision will apply to all India Service officers posted in the state. Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that this increase will also benefit thousands of employees and retirees.
How much has the DA increased for central employees?
It will be heartening to know that the DA of central employees was increased by 3%, bringing it to 58%. Previously, the government had increased the DA by 2%. This had risen to 55%. The central government increases DA twice annually. Its rates are effective from January 1st and July 1st.
