DA Hike: 3.62 lakh employees and pensioners get 3% DA, arrears before Diwali; CM announces

HP DA Hike: Good news for Himachal Pradesh govt employees. The Himachal Pradesh government has given a Diwali gift to all the employees. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has announced to give 3 percent DA (Dearness Allowance). The employees will also get the arrears amount from April to September before Diwali. The DA amount will be given regularly in the month of November along with the salary of October.

The Chief Minister said that a separate notification will be issued regarding the arrears due to the employees from July 2023 to March 2025. The Chief Minister has made this announcement in the conference of the Electricity Board employees. Millions of employees in Himachal Pradesh have been waiting for a long time for their dearness allowance installment. Now, just before Diwali, the Chief Minister has given them this gift.

The Chief Minister said that the announcement of dearness allowance was made in the budget speech, but due to poor financial condition, it could not be paid in June 2025. Now, 3% dearness allowance will be given on Diwali. There are 1.91 lakh officers-employees and 1.71 lakh pensioners in the state. Employees will get monthly benefit ranging from a minimum of Rs 800 to officers up to the Chief Secretary rank of Rs 8,000. 4% DA is pending in the state from July 2023 and January 2024. Apart from this, 3% DA from July 2024, 2% DA from January 2025 and 3% DA from July are also due now.

This announcement has doubled the employees’ Diwali joy. Recently, the government assured HRTC employees that they would release their DA installment. On October 13th, a delegation of HRTC employees met with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. Subsequently, the employees also presented their demands to Chief Minister Sukhu.
