The scheme will be implemented as a pilot project on select routes from October 13 to December 31, 2025.
Rammohan Naidu today inaugurated the “Fare Se Fursat” scheme, a landmark initiative by the government-owned regional airline Alliance Air. “Fare Se Fursat” aims to relieve travelers of the stress of airfare fluctuations and simplify air travel in the country. Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, Alliance Air Chairman Amit Kumar and Alliance Air CEO Rajarshi Sen were also present at the launch event.
How will you benefit?
Under the scheme, Alliance Air will offer a single, fixed fare that is independent of the booking date. This means that the fare will remain the same no matter how far in advance you book your ticket or even the day of travel. This initiative will be piloted on select routes from October 13th to December 31st, 2025. The aim is to assess its effectiveness and passenger
Speaking at the launch, the Minister said, “The new scheme is fully aligned with the core principles of the ‘UDAN’ scheme. Today, Alliance Air is furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making aviation accessible and affordable to the common man. The middle class, lower-middle class, and neo-middle class have particularly benefited from this.” He further explained that this fixed fare system will eliminate the uncertainty and stress associated with airfares. This will allow travelers to anticipate their expenses, even if they have to book tickets at the last minute.
The Minister also shared his broader vision to make Indian aviation more passenger-centric. He said, “Since taking charge of the Ministry, my focus has been on making aviation more useful to the people. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s ‘UDAN’ vision, we have launched UDAN Yatri Cafés at airports, offering tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, and snacks for ₹20. This is making air travel more dignified and affordable. Now, we are going a step further, addressing a major concern for passengers: airfares.”
Emphasizing the contribution of regional airlines, Ram Mohan Naidu described Alliance Air as the backbone of the government’s regional connectivity scheme, UDAN. He said that it connects tier-2 and tier-3 cities to the national aviation network. Alliance Air has taken a bold step with the idea of ’One Route, One Fare.’ It is truly the ‘Udaan of New India,’ focusing on public service and thinking beyond profit.
