The natural gas market has given big good news to the common people at the beginning of the new year. The central regulatory body PNGRB has now taken an important decision. As a result, the price of CNG and pipeline cooking gas (CNG Price) in the country has started to decrease. And everyone from drivers to households will directly benefit from this decision.

Think Gas on the road to price reduction

Think Gas has announced to reduce the price of CNG and domestic PNG gas in various states before the new tariff comes into effect. The company claims that this decision has been taken to give some relief to the customers at the beginning of the new year. In this regard, an official of the company said, according to the new tariff, although it will be effective from 2026, we want to give its benefits to the customers in advance.

Meanwhile, not only Think Gas, but also major gas distributor companies like Indian Oil-Adani Gas, Gujarat Gas and Mahanagar Gas can also announce price reduction very soon. It is worth mentioning that the PNGRB announced a new framework for natural gas pipelines on December 16, which is effective from today. And the biggest change in this is that the zones based on distance have been reduced to just two. Where there were three zones earlier, now they have been reduced to Zone 1 up to 300 kilometers and Zone 2 above 300 kilometers.

However, the most important aspect of this change is that the tariff will be applicable to CNG and domestic PNG customers across the country as Zone 1. That is, the cost of gas for everyone, regardless of how far away they are from the gas source, will be around Tk 54 per MMBTU. This will significantly reduce the cost of gas in remote areas and small towns. It will even make it cheaper to run CNG vehicles. In addition, the monthly cost of cooking gas will also reduce.
