School Closed for Winter Vacation: North India is experiencing a severe cold wave and dense fog. Due to the intense cold, people have reduced their outdoor activities. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, and Rajasthan, are currently experiencing a harsh winter. Major announcements have been made regarding school holidays in several states, including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and Punjab. Following instructions from UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all schools up to class 12th in Uttar Pradesh have been ordered to remain closed until January 5, 2026. UP School Closed Update

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the closure of all schools up to class 12th until January 5, 2026, due to the severe cold. This rule applies equally to government, private, and all recognised board schools. Special monitoring is being conducted in districts such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj.
Delhi NCR School Closed
Schools up to Class 5 are closed in Noida and Ghaziabad. Meanwhile, many schools for classes 6 to 12 are offering classes online or in a hybrid format. Physical classes have been temporarily suspended due to the dense fog.

Punjab Haryana School Holidays
The Punjab government has ordered schools to remain closed until January 10, 2026, due to the dense fog and cold weather. In Haryana, school timings have been changed, and holidays have been extended until January 15 in several districts.
Bihar & Rajasthan School Holidays
In several districts of Bihar, including Patna and Gaya, educational activities for classes up to 5th will remain suspended until January 5. In the northern districts of Rajasthan, where temperatures are near zero, winter vacations are underway in schools.
