Open the SMS application on your phone. Compose a new message using the following format did: UIDPAN <12-digit Aadhaar number> <10-digit PAN number>.
For example: UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F. Send this message to 567678 or 56161. You will receive an SMS from the Income Tax Department within a few seconds. The message will inform you if your Aadhaar and PAN are “linked” or “not linked.”

You will receive the message below if your Aadhaar and PAN are not linked: “Your PAN is not already linked with Aadhaar.”

How to link PAN–Aadhaar?

If you have received an SMS stating that your Aadhaar and PAN are not linked, there is no need to be anxious. Linking them is a simple task.

Method 1: Link online:

You can linking them through the internet. You will have to go to the website www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal. Once there, you need to click “Link Aadhaar.” After that, enter your PAN, Aadhaar number, and mobile number. Once you have completed that, click on “submit OTP” to receive a verification code, and complete the process.

Method 2: Link through SMS:

You can link PAN–Aadhaar through SMS. Simply use the same format: UIDPAN <12-digit Aadhaar> <10-digit PAN> and send the new message to 567678 or 56161.
