After January, the central government may present its Union Budget on February 1st. Farmers have high expectations from this budget. The Modi government may increase the instalment amount of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme this time.
This could bring significant benefits to farmers. There are speculations that the scheme’s annual amount will be increased by Rs. 3,000. However, no one has officially revealed any details regarding the budget presentation yet.

Increased Instalment Amount
The central government may present its Union Budget for the financial years 2026 and 2027 on February 1st. In this budget, the amount under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme may be increased by Rs. 3,000 annually. After this increase, the annual instalment amount will rise to Rs. 9,000. The government will then transfer Rs. 3,000 instead of Rs. 2,000 in each insinstalmenthe annual expenditure on the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will also increase significantly.
Farmers’ orgaorganisationse been demanding this for a long time. Farmers have high hopes for this budget. The government has not yet officially commented on increasing the instalment amount. This decision by the government is expected to benefit approximately 10 crore farmers.

When will the budget be presented?

Expectations regarding Kisan Credit Card
Farmers also expect an increase in the limit of the Kisan Credit Card from the budget. The central government may increase the Kisan Credit Card limit by Rs. 1 lakh. Currently, the Kisan Credit Card limit is Rs. 5 lakh. This means that farmers receive an interest waiver on loans up to ₹5 lakh. This limit may now be increased by ₹1 lakh.
