Big Relief for Women: Ladki Behen Yojana e-KYC Deadline Extended Till December 31, 2025

The Maharashtra government has extended the deadline for e-KYC under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana. The process was originally scheduled to be completed by November 18, 2025, but the state government has now extended the deadline. Due to natural disasters and inconveniences in several districts, many female beneficiaries were unable to complete their e-KYC on time. As a result, the government has decided to extend the e-KYC deadline to provide relief to women. Minister Aditi S. Tatkare also wrote on social media that the government has taken this decision in recognition of the difficulties faced by women.

Why e-KYC is Necessary and the Role of UIDAI

The government’s objective behind making e-KYC mandatory is to ensure that scheme funds reach the right women and that there are no irregularities. There were frequent complaints of two applications in the same name, incorrect bank accounts, or fraudulent entries. This is why Aadhaar authentication has been made mandatory. The September 2025 order clearly stated that Aadhaar authentication is required for any government benefit under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act 2016. The UIDAI has also authorized the Department of Women and Child Development to process e-KYC on its own, making the process easier.

For the Ladki Behen Scheme at Home

Women can now complete e-KYC in a matter of minutes using their mobile phones or laptops, without having to visit any office.
