The Haryana government has taken a big step towards women’s financial empowerment. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana at Indradhanush Stadium in Panchkula. Under this scheme, about 21 lakh eligible women in the state will get a monthly allowance of ₹2,100.
Women don’t need to visit any government office to get the benefits. They can register directly through the Deendayal Lado Laxmi mobile app launched by the government.
The scheme was started on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. Chief Minister Saini was joined by Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi. The government said that this scheme will help empower women and improve their families’ financial condition.
The Haryana government has set aside an annual budget of ₹5,000 crore for the scheme. Around ₹415 crore will be sent directly to women’s bank accounts every month.
What did Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini say?
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that this scheme is not just about financial help, but also about the dignity and self-reliance of women. He said that women in Haryana are doing well in every field, from farming to education, sports, and jobs. He added that it is the government’s duty to give them social security. Social Justice Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi said that this is a historic step and it will help millions of women from poor families take care of their families better.
Who can benefit?
- Age limit: Only women between 23 and 60 years can get this benefit.
- Family income: Only families with an income up to ₹1 lakh per year can apply.
- Number of beneficiaries: In the first phase, about 20,97,256 women will get this allowance, including 14,14,621 married women and 6,82,635 unmarried women. The government said both married and unmarried women will get the allowance to ensure equality.
When will the money arrive?
The government said the money will start going to women’s accounts from November 1, Haryana Day. There will be no delay in payments.
Application Process
- Registration via Mobile App: The government has launched the Deendayal Lado Laxmi App. Eligible women can register in minutes using this app.
- No need to visit any department: The process is fully digital. Women do not need to go to government offices.
- Multiple registrations from one phone: More than one woman can register using the same phone. This will help families or villages where all women want to get the allowance at the same time.
