The Railways have provided passengers with a historic and unprecedented relief! Now, during this busy festive season, you will no longer see the “Regret” message on coaches when booking tickets. The Railways have arranged for 3 million additional berths to ensure that no passenger is left without even trying. This decision will make the dream of returning home come true for millions of passengers.
Pilot Project Launched to Eliminate ‘Regret’

Northern Railways has clarified that a pilot project is underway to eliminate this serious passenger problem. This remarkable initiative is receiving a very positive response from passengers. However, there have been technical issues at some locations, which the Railways is continuously working on. According to officials, approximately 3,000 additional coaches have already been added to trains, and this number will be further increased if needed to meet the peak demand.
A barrage of special trains for Purvanchal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh
In anticipation of the festive season, Northern Railway has introduced special trains to various cities in Purvanchal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. As new trains are announced, their schedules are immediately made public, allowing passengers to plan their travels easily. The Railways’ goal is to ensure that no seat remains vacant during this festive period and to accommodate maximum passengers.
No Restrictions on Waiting Lists of More than 150

In normal times, the Railways typically does not issue more than 150 waiting tickets and closes bookings. However, in view of the festive season, the Railways have significantly relaxed this rule. The process of reducing waiting lists and removing the “regret” status by adding additional coaches to the most sought-after trains is now in full swing.
The chances of getting tickets have now increased manifold for millions of passengers stuck on waiting lists. Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar also inspected the Anand Vihar Terminal on Monday (October 13) to review preparations for passenger amenities during the upcoming festivals. This visionary initiative by the Railways will prove to be a real Diwali gift for millions of passengers.
