Homes with installed solar systems will receive up to 300 units of free electricity every month. How Much Government Subsidy is Available on Solar Panels?

Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, the government provides a direct subsidy for installing solar panels. A maximum subsidy of up to ₹78,000 is provided for rooftop solar systems up to 3 kW. For systems up to 2 kW, approximately ₹30,000 in assistance is provided. After the solar panel installation, an application for the subsidy needs to be submitted on the National Rooftop Solar Portal. The subsidy amount is then transferred directly to the bank account within approximately one month.

Complete Online Application Process for PM Surya Ghar Scheme

The application process for the PM Surya Ghar scheme is entirely online. First, you need to visit the official website pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Here, go to the Consumer section and select the “Apply Now” option. The registration process then takes place through the consumer login, which requires entering the registered mobile number and completing OTP verification. After logging in, basic information such as name, email, and pin code needs to be filled in.  Following this, the state, district, and electricity distribution company are selected, and the consumer account number is entered to apply for a solar rooftop system. Once all the details are fetched, the application can be finally submitted.
